REVIEW/HOW TO: Get Double Eyelid Without Looking Too Artificial. (Mesh Material Double eyelid tape

(This is not a paid review, by all means, I got this with my own money)

Hi Beauty babes/ Hunks,

It's been awhile since I last updated my space here, I'm really sorry for the long hiatus. I‘ve been very very busy with my current job (Full Time Makeup artist/ Beauty Advisor).

Well oh well, to compensate this, I'm gonna share with you guys my latest finds (not really lastest as I got this in September, I wanted to give this product a trial period to see how hard working I'm able to stick to it and whether if it really works !)

If you guys can tell (even my blog banner made it so obvious already) I'm actually that group of girls who are blessed with double eyelid BUT they are unfortunately hidden. :-

** Sorry For my naked face, but you see/ get what I mean? my double eyelid is fold in, thus it is barely visible and it's a pain in my ass to try to make eyeliner not smudging.***

Well, I'm not worry anymore~ because some genius invented this !!!!

By the way I'm not selling/using the Miss bow bow one, as the glue that cames with it I don't recommend. Scroll down and read it I have explained why in this post. On top of it this is almost like 3 time the price the one I'm using/selling.

The one I'm selling/using personally now is this one(picture below), this one has 12 pairs per piece and they do not comes with the glue.

hehe, yes this is double eyelid tape that's made out of mesh material (the ones people usually use for head veil)

This is how they kind of looks like upclose, the small holes are like the same logic as your 3M tape that allow your skin to breathe and eyeshadow to adhere longer and better.

and now this is the moment I need to review this........ (with picture of me wearing them)

image.jpeg

Can you see a major differences of me with the double eyelid tape and without ? Best of all, it's not freaking reflective like the typical double eyelid tape. The staying power is far by the best as u can choose your own glue (I tried it with the glue that comes with it but, NO. it is sticky and it will stay but there's a burning sensation the moment I placed the tape on my eyelid. So no... but I did try it with starlash glue and my favourite duo glue both performed very well with this double eyelid tape!!!)

Oh yeah I know there are double sided fibers or tape in the market but I have a slightly hooded eyelid, those are either not strong enough or they will lost its stickiness after awhile as my eyelid start to become oily. On top of it if you stick it properly your eyes will look funky and when you close it shut, it will looks like a double eyelid surgery gone wrong and left a scar on your eyelids.

image.jpeg

See ? The color payoff of your eyeshadow will not be affected if you stick it properly. I know my left eye can see a bit of glue, this is taken some time back when I just learn how to use these.

I got to say this thing is superb for people like me who have problems with their double eyelids.
picture above is after practicing (I stick it everyday ~) for about 1 week. The more you practice the more invisible this can get. Practices make perfect, that's what they say.

**sorry for the blur picture, this was taken the first attempt of me sticking it one by the help of my colleague.
The reason why I wanted to share this pic because this clearly shows how difference a person can be (at least for me.) with and without a double eyelid. or a more obvious, deep set eyelid.

Now I need not to worry for smudging of my eyeliners anymore !!! YAY !

Overall my experiences with this (given that I have about 2 months to try it out)
I REALLY LIKE IT A LOT !!! IT'S MY HG NOW.

My Rating for this :4.8/5

Where to buy ? You guys can get it from me !! :)
I have no idea where you can get this in singapore by the way.** but I do know if you get it online from some other sellers they charge SGD$20 & over.

My DIY Beauty Secret.

As mention on the previous post, I'm gonna share with u guys some of my favourite DIY that actually works and does not burn your pocket.

Well, in fact I'm not the person who was all "cray-cray" for DIY Beauty recipes. It started out with my MOMA. yes, my mom :) She's very into making DIY Fruits & Veg Enzymes which pack a punch with tons of beauty and health benefits.

Just a little extra info for those who wants to venture out on DIY Enzymes :-

  1. You have to use purely glass containers to allow the fruits or veg to fully "decay" and not destroy the enzymes.
  2. You have to ensure everything you used to prepare the enzyme cannot touch water. If you gonna wash ANYTHING i.e fruits, knife etc please make sure u dry it using kitchen towels.
  3. Do not use plastic to scoop the liquid out, only use ceramic or stainless steel prouducts.

So moving on, my personal DIY Beauty secrets (or maybe not a secret to a lot of you out there)....

1.DIY Honey & Brown Sugar Wash Off Pack.

The brown sugar wash off pack from skinfood are great BUT very pricey in Singapore. (I know you can get it way cheaper online but DIY was even cheaper)

So I decided to make it myself instead of store bought ones as they do contains some other chemicals.

All you need is 3 base ingredient.

  • 2 Tablespoon of refined brown sugar.
  • 1 Tablespoon of Organic Manuka Honey or Any organic honey or Raw Honey (I recommend Organic and raw because its the purest form of honey out there)
  • 1 capsule of Vitamin E oil (or if you do have Vitamin E oil in bottle form you can put 3 drops or so)
If you gonna make bigger batch just remember the ratio of brown sugar to honey is 2:1. Vitamin E oil you can put like 2 more capsule. :) but this is my way of how I prefer my scrub to be you can go ahead to add more sugar or honey depend on how abrasive you would prefer. All you need to do is to mix them well and put inside a glass container.

I really don't wanna bore you guys with all the science stuff but I do wanna bring up some skincare benefits of each ingredient.

Refined Brown Sugar- Brown Sugar itself helps to exfoliating the skin, cleans and tightens pores giving the skin a more even uniform appearance; pores look smaller, skin tone more even. It can also diminish the damage to the skin caused by acne and other skin conditions.Using a brown sugar scrub improves your skin's ability to retain its natural moisture balance.

Honey- Honey allows your skin to attract and retain moisture for the skin, it has anti inflammatory benefits thus this is great for people who has acne prone skin like me :) At the same time honey is a little sticky thus it adhere on to the skin better.

Vitamin E Oil- Vitamin E promote skin renewal and protect your skin from free radicals as it is an antioxidant. Reason being why I choose this over other oil is that its a natural preservative !:) thus you can store this longer.

How to store and use it ? :-

  • With Vitamin E you can store this in your fridge and last you about a month or so (I like my batch to be fresh )
  • After cleansing your face with warm water, apply a generous amount on to your skin and leave it on for 15 min. After that gently massage your skin (this helps in exfloliating) and wash off with cold water.

I love this scrub a lot as it is cheap and effective thus after using it for some times I added some other additional ingredient to make it even better.

  • 1 tablespoon of green tea.
  • 1 tablespoon of Shea butter (For body scrub)
  • a few drops of tea tree oils.
  • 1 tablespoon of Cacao powder

2. DIY Lush-inspired Face Mask.

Well, I came up with this recipe when I popped by LUSH and manage to try some similar mask samples. Its SUPER EXPENSIVE (in my point of view) so I decided to see if I can duplicate it :P  This was different from the one in LUSH but this work really well for me and my friends.

So for this it's a little bit more complicated then the honey and brown sugar pack but It works super well :)

Ingredient List :-
  • 1 Tablespoon of Raw/Organic Manuka Honey or any other honey.
  • 4 Tablespoon of Organic Oatmeal or any Oatmeal you can find (but must be unflavored), make sure you blend it with a blender or food processor to make the oatmeal particle smaller but not making it into powder form.)
  • 1/2 piece of  a Ripe Avocado. (Remove the seed)
  • Fresh Mint Leaves (If you can stand the smell of it you can add more, if you can't then about 5 to 8 pieces I usually add like 15 pieces)
  • 1/2 piece of a Ripe Banana
  • 3 capsule of vitamin E oil
I know there's a lot of ingredient but hey it is still cheaper than buying from LUSH. Total cost I spend making this was like :SGD$ 12 (excluding honey, vitamin e oil). What I did was to blend everything (except the oatmeal which you kind of semi blend it to make them "smaller" so that it will not be so messy when you apply and it will adhere better as it dries up) with my food processor and it will turns out as a paste.  Once you are done add in the oatmeal into the mixture.

Okay some quick skincare benefits of the ingredient (you can google it up if you wanna know more benefit for each of them)

Oatmeal- Works as an ultra gentle exfoliater, soothe sensitive and irritated skin, helps to fade off scars.

Avocado- Pack with Vitamin K and E and anti oxidants helps to fight free radical, heals scar and promote skin renewal, fade spots, prevent premature aging, repair skin cell etc, its benefit can go on and on

Mint Leave- Miracle herb for acne prone skin, a natural detox agents, cleanser, and skin soother for sensitive and oily skin. It helps with reducing blackhead and also minimizing your pore size. The minty feeling also helps to calms your skin down :)

Banana- Pack with Vitamin C and antioxidant, helps in hydrating and brightening your skin :)
(Yes to Minion).

How To Store/ Use: -

  • Store this in your fridge and use it as often as you like as this is quite soothing, personally I used it every other day.
  • This can store up to 1.5 month. (about 6 weeks)
  • After cleansing your face with warm water, apply a generous amount on to your skin and leave it on for 35 min. After that gently massage your skin (this helps in exfloliating) and wash off with cold water.
I know to some people out there it's too much of a hassle to make all this but hey, its like making food, food for your skin. Would you prefer to eat things that like with so much of chemical or things that's more natural or from scratch.

I love DIY Mask for the fact their are quite cheap most of the time and also you know what are inside the mask.

Do try it out and let me know if this work. :P Loves.... Share with me what's your favourite mask and why :)

Essence Haul :)

So I've dropped by the Watson outlet at IMM just this monday to get some of the new product they have launched in Singapore.

Oh god knows I'm pretty addicted to this brand ever since I got my hands on their mascara.

Moving on..... Some of the product I've gotten on Monday :) :-

The new Highlighter powder from the Oz the great and powerful collections :-

I'm not even joking..... this stuff is pretty good. I've own a few highlighter which I personally adore very much. To me this gave a similar effect of Mac MSF powder, just that this is not baked. because this give one of the most dewy glow once it sets on my skin. I just tried putting it on yesterday and I've gotten so many compliments from this. **Happiness**

btw this is pretty different from the twilight one :P The oz one is like those type of highlighter that you will go saying "I can't really see it, but I know something is there that makes a difference" those type of highlighter :)

Next.... I've gotten two eyeliners from the STAY NO MATTER WHAT  collection :-

I'm quite impress by this two eyeliners for the price of $2.90 each, this is pretty good actually. It glides on easily and stayed on my eyes for about 7 hrs without smudging and transfer. I wasn't sweating but I have very oily lids thus I'm quite "wow" by these :)
'
I gotten the black and brown one. Not a fan of grey but I just wished they have more colors to choose from and that they would have a nude one (just like NYX wonder pencil.)

I was a little sad when I reach the counter because the blushes from the OZ collections was all gone T.T

I hope this help you girls out there if you are kind of thinking what u should try from them :) this two are great starters.

Growing Up...

Sigh after a heart felt talk to a special friend of mine today, I find my own future very bleak. It's like I'm losing direction from what I know I wanna do. :( Sigh. I don't want to grow up. I just don't want to disappoint anyone anymore. sigh~ why when we grow up we face so much of problem? I miss those day I just need to worry if daddy remember to give me recess and lunch money for school. Or when does my homework due. sigh~ Some times I just don't wanna grow old anymore.

Thru my childhood I disappoint everyone around me time and time again. I can't even think of 10 things my mom and my dad is/was proud about me. In the eyes of other people, I'm a failure in my studies. I just dont know what I want now anymore. whether or not being confuse or what.

This thing really hit on me during my graduation when my lecturer told me this :-

Focus on your abilities! and not those things you aren't good at....
Sigh.. problem with me I finding my abilities and not my flaws. I went thru reflection and question myself.

I don't want to be a failure anymore. Working in the tourism and hospitality industry was what I wanna do since I'm in my secondary school. Make up itself was my comfort zone. But young girls and guys, just a reminder.

Even when you fail, there are always people around you who will catch you when you fall, allow you to rely on.

My worst mistakes thru my childhood and teenage live was trusting myself and only myself. Well needless to say I do have some friends who I open myself up to but due to my stubborn believe everyone out there were most probably harming me in anyways verbally or in action therefore I don't have much friends, in fact i gain more enemies then friends.
I was silly. I was hurt. I have no one to talk to at a point of time in myself. I bottle up everything to myself.

Looking back now I felt I was such a straight forward bitch who does not care about other feelings but myself in school with low or no self esteem.

Another advice : The only way to help yourself is to take the first step out to let people to help you. If you gonna build a wall around people, there is no way they can help you at all.

This only hit me when I was about to finish my course in ITE.

I really do treasure people around me but due to my low self esteem, I didnt know how to express myself.
Even till now, I have problem expressing my love to my parents some times as well.

At least now I'm happy. Happy that I open up myself.

Well I know it suppose to be a beauty blog. To me beauty is not only skin deep but it start with the mindsets.

Review: Elf Matte Lip Color In Coral.

NOTE: This is a non-sponsored review and they are my true most honest opinion about the product/s

Dear Beauty Babies :), Today will be my take on the E.L.F Studio Matte Lip Color in CORAL :)

This is one of my favorite lipstick from E.l.F so far~

Sorry for the blur picture but the lighting in my room was a little odd.

Any way for this particular line of matte lip colors they come in a twist up stick form, the shape is very similar to a skinny version of a Revlon Just Bitten Stain Balm.

The pink color tip can be pull out and "sharpen" the lip color for precise application
but I think this kinda waste the product.
Moving on....
If you have high expectation to the packaging, I'm sorry this will disappoint you a bit.
due to the twist up packaging, the creamy formula of the lipstick tends to melt a bit on the outer layer.
otherwise this is quite good actually.

Now color swatches on the back of my hand:-

My hand is a little hairy :P but anyway this is the swatch without flash. To me, this is not so much of a coral color but more like a pink-ish nude. its a pretty nice color.

with flash. still a very pretty color to me :)

Below are the swatches on my lips
Super nice, it glides on really well on my lips but I do think those people who have dry chap lips you would need to exfoliate your lips first prior to application. :)

With Flash. Pretty pinkish nude color. I did put some lip balm before applying the matte color. Color pay off is quite good actually. :)

Pros:-

Easy and Precise Application
Twist out applicator.
Creamy Formula
Semi matte if you put a glossy lip balm prior to application
Decent staying power.
quite affordable

Cons:-

Quite drying for people who have chapped and peeling lips
like most matte lipstick, this one does make dry lips look even drier.

Overall rating :-

Price: 4/5 (If you get it from smoochiezz the price run from $7 to $9.90, I don't think you can go wrong with this price for a good quality matte lipstick)
Staying power: 3/5 (Lasted on my lip for 3 hour without eating and drinking some beverages. It did transfer a bit to my mug and straw)
Color Payoff: 5/5 (This is the perfect pinkish nude, I loved MAC Creme Cup but it make me look a little sick, where as this make me look healthier and fresh. To me I used it as my everyday go to lipstick. This kind of remind me of a pink & matte version of MAC Ravishing. )
Packaging: 3/5 (To me, the sharpener thingy is pointless to me and the wording "elf matte lip color" will rub off. Beside these two issue I have with the product but I can oversee them :))

Overall Rate : 4.5/5

Hope You Guys Like My Review !! :)

Next Post Will Be A Yummy Post !! :) Stay Tune !

$20 Make Up Challenge look :))))))

Hi Beauty babies,

As corresponding to the last post here is the look I've created with all the product bought within $20 budget (the budget does not include the tools i've used) ! BTW I didnt use the masacara from essence because my mom took it thus i don't have it with me, but i'll do a review for it shortly after this post !

I've applied my BB cream with my favourite brush at the moment for foundation, The real techniques expert face brush.

I used the Kajal Pencil from essence to fill in my eyebrow and then smudge it with an eyebrow brush.
then I used it on my lower lashes line and smudge it a little bit so that it look less harsh.

for the eye shadow wise i used the first color on the left (the champagne color) all over my eyelid and then I used the fourth colour from the left (the Bronzy dark brown) the the corner of my eye to create a natural hazy look :)

then for the blush i used elf studio blush in candid coral for a natural flush of color, to make full use of my eyeshadow palette I used the pure white color on the right as a highlighter on my cheekbone, brow bone, nose and my chin.

Then for contour i used the 2nd and 3rd color from the left mixing it together it give a very nice glowing bronzer. This help to warm up my skin as im quite fair and at the same time it gives off a nice glow :)

btw I know my lips looked like it have drawn out of my "lip line" but my boarder of the lip is acutally there don't ask me why :/

This is a really easy everyday look for work and school. The makeup look very natural and its really easy to do. Definately something boyfriend will approve.

"A person should be the one wearing the makeup and not the makeup wearing the person"
- What my mom always says :)

Just in case for those wanna know what tools I have used to create this look :-

Theses are the brushes i used for this look. !!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE THE REAL TECHNIQUES BRUSHES :)

Hazy night = a Lazy night.

btw I'm sorry for the photo quality my room lighting decided to fuck me up some how :/

 Love Vivian.

$20 Make Up Challenge. Singapore edition :) + Mini Review

Hi peeps,

I'm so excited today as I have finally put together my SGD$20 makeup challenge*** (Tools for the look not included alright!)  !! :) I think I've done a pretty good job for it, lets see what I've got all under SGD$20:-

Face :-

Holika Holika Aqua Petit BB Cream $7
I actually discover this BB cream last year, my first bottle cost me $15 with shipping,
I got this 2nd bottle during the promotion on Gmarket/Qoo10 from one of the Korean Seller for $7 with normal korean airmail (what a steal right !). I really like this BB cream as this give light to medium coverage and a semi matte/velvet finish.

E.L.F Studio Blush in Candid Coral $4
I have no idea why it look so dark in the pic but in real life it is a peachy Coral color. I got this again during a flash sales of one seller on Qoo10/Gmarket with local normal mail.

Daiso 6 Eyeshadow palette $2 in Brown

Let me tell you some of my personal secrets, Daiso actually make very very decent eyeshadow for the price you paid for. like this above, the formula is really soft and buttery, not to forget it is highly pigmented. (I will do a separate review/swatch for this ! Stay Tune !)

I will be using the 1st color from the far left as a highlight and the 2nd and 3rd color as a bronzer.

Essence All Eyes On Me Multi Action Mascara $4.40
This baby has been my all time favourite mascara ever since i discover it ! even though the formula is not waterproof but the staying power is awesome for this !! no flaking or transfer for 8 hrs straight ! best of all unlike a lot of drugstore mascara out there like (in Singapore) this is Made in Germany and not China.
It give amazing volume and length to my eyelashes.

Essence Kajal Pencil 08 Teddy $2.30

Though it did state that it is waterproof, this is pretty long lasting for the price you pay for. It is super creamy to glide on your eyes and waterline and I will be doubling up as a brow pencil :)
I did a water test on the Kajal Pencil and realise that so long u dont rub ur eyes even when it is wet it wont smudge on you.

I got this when i brought another 2 mini lipstick. its really cheap. Quality not bad t

Total Cost SGD $19.70

Do Like Or Comment below if u would like to see a look all created by these products.
